Awards winning Ghanaian Hip pop and Afro-fusion artiste, Denning Edem Hotor, who professionally performs under the name, Edem, has stated that it will be inhumane and uncalled-for, for him to make; engender any form of lyrical move or ‘attack’ on Ghanaian celebrated rap music icon, Sarkodie.
According to him, even though they are all doing music, they both represent two very strong ethnic groups in the country, whereas, he revealed that, colleague awards winning rapper, Sarkodie represents the Akan ethnic group in Ghana, he, on the other hand, represents the Ewe, ethnic group.
This comes at the back after beefing between musicians in the Ghanaian entertainment climate has become a norm most performing arts indulge in, to garner the much-needed attention, with the vast majority of Ghanaian entertainment critiques and music lovers at large have accepted without dispute that, Rapper Edem,s ‘Heyba’ tune was a direct shade thrown at Rapper Sarkodie.
Speaking in an interview on a Kumasi-based Luv FM’s drive time show hosted by DJ Reuben, the ‘Toto’ crooner has stated that, contrary to such perception a wide section of entertainment critique has about his viral song ‘Heyba’, it is not a diss song attributed to Rapper Sarkodie.
He continues to say that, musicians are obliged to cavil; an evasion of the point of an argument by raising irrelevant distinction or objections against each other, stressing that, his popular song, ‘Heyba’ was a launch of an assault on; begin hostilities or start warfare with the CEO of SarkCess Music, Sarkodie.
The Chief Executive Officer of Volta Regime Music Group(VRMG), Edem corroborated that, even though it is not erroneous for rappers to lyrically go at each other, the rapper reiterated that, the ‘Heyba’ track was never directed at Sarkodie.
